Cards With Lots of Layers

Welcome back my friends,

Today I am sharing two cards with you that both have lots of layers and dimension. Some people love the clean and simple look but I am more of a details girl so I love to add layers and contract for added interest.

The Needlepoint Designer Series Paper was used for color inspiration for this card. I simply chose two coordinating solid colors and began layering. For the card base I choose Berry Burst which was ran through the Big Shot using the “Dot To Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder” which immediately added texture and interest. Then Tranquil Tide was used for framing as well as embellishing.

For added interest I used lots of layers including the stitched die that coordinates with our “Pretty Label” punch. I just love the coordination between these two products. Check out the products listed at the bottom of this post for all the product photos and links for more information. Now onto the second “Lots of Layers” card….

For this card I simply layered up two different patterns of paper from the Needlepoint Nook designer series paper. I then used the stitched background die from the Needle & Thread bundle as the focal image. The corners of this piece was cut using the detailed trio punch.

The sentiment again was created using the die/punch as used in the first sample. I just simply added some stamped flowers on it using blushing bride ink and stamps from the Needle & Thread stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today. If you would like to be notified when a new post is posted simply add your email in the blank on your left. Hugs, Melanie

A couple runs through your Big Shot machine plus 2 stamps and here you have today’s CAS card. Isn’t the stitching from the background die just beautiful? If you have any mid week time I hope to inspire you to create even the easiest of cards. Feel free to share your creations over in my Customer Facebook Group.

Tuesday’s Tip ~ Two Cards From CAS to “All Dressed Up”

Welcome back stamp lovers!

Today I am here to share a Clean and Simple (CAS) card with all of you but I decided to also share tips on dressing up a card with added layers of detail.

Here is my CAS simple card design. Just a simple strip of double sided designer series paper. I used both sides to alternate the designs to really show off this beautiful paper. Then a simple strip of card stock, one stitched die cut and a single stamped sentiment. this gives such a sleek look and is quite striking. But what if we dress it up a little using this week’s Needlepoint Nook Suite of products…

As you can see I used everything the first card had plus more. The white space has been embossed using the stitched die from the bundle. The floral stamps have been stamped and die cut out using the coordinating dies. The stitched circle that the sentiment was stamped on also has a second scalloped layer. Then a few die cut leaves were used, also from the same bundle….. and POW!!!! A multilayered look with a lot of interest and dimension. (Quick tip…. Make sure to order Dimensionals in both the regular size as well as the mini’s. I will link these at the end of this post.) These really help with popping up some of the flowers to add even more to that dimensional look. Here is a close up photo…

I hope you have enjoyed this and feel inspired. The CAS card has sleek lines and is quite striking due to its extra white space and the ‘dressed up’ card has dimension and extra interest. Both designs will appeal to a wide variety of people. Now lets see a CAS & ‘Dressed Up” card that you have designed. CLICK HERE to head on over to my VIP Customer group on Facebook.
