Friday Focal ~ Forever Lovely Bundle

Each Friday I will share a “Focal Photo” that I have used to inspire me while creating. This is a great way to use different color combinations. I hope you will enjoy these inspiring photos each week and will fie them helpful when you decide to create. Just check back each Friday for more inspiration.

This weeks Focal Photo:

This beautiful archway with the cascading flowers inspired my card below…

Side Note: The designer paper I have used here is called Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper (DSP) #146913… It is STUNNING!!!!! Here is a close up.

Below just shows a close up of the way the die is used to layer. This should help you understand how to create this fun border. There are SO MANY options with this die. Think of all the colors you could use with these layers.

On last detail to share. I think this is a little bundle that is really looked over in the annual catalog. The corner detail was created with the “Detailed Trio punch” along with the coordinating stamp set called “Detailed With Love”. You can save 10% by purchasing them together using item # 148328

Thank you for taking the time to look at my projects. Leave me a comment or send me an email if you have questions. My inbox is Always open!!!!

Just Paper & Ink…. Seriously!

Hi Friends,
Today I am going to share a little bit about one layer stamping can be fun and look a lot more work than it really is. When I say “One Layer Stamping” I am thinking “Just paper and ink”!!! nothing fancy but the stamping makes it look like it is more work than it actually is. Lets take a look at how I created today’s card.

Step One: Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock to 4″x5 1/4″ and using Merry Merlot ink to stamp your rose stamp from the Forever Lovely Bundle #150580. This is your darkest ink color used in those card.

Step 2: Using your Lovely Lipstick ink pad, stamp that same flower stamp afew more times leading into the center. My watermark above is where your sentiment is going to go so we just want to work on the left hand side.

Step 3: Closing the gap on the left side simply stamp a few more flowers in Flirty Flamingo ink. This technique can be done with almost any stamp but Stampin’ Up!®’s new DistINKtive stamps are perfect for this because they look so dimensional already due to there shading. (DistINKtive stamps are a new style of stamps that Stampin’ Up@ now carry. In one stamp you have varied light and dark areas. They are really fun to play with.

Here is the final ONE LAYER card. Super Simple and perfect for mailing because there are no embellishments 😉

Awesome Tip! Get the most from your 12×12″ Patterned Paper!

Hello my midweek friends!

I am sharing a swap card I recently made for a demonstrator swap. I wanted to use my amazing Designer Series Paper (DSP) and get as many samples out of it as possible. I thought I would share the recipe for getting 12 cards from 1 piece of paper!!!

Step 1: Cut your 12×12″ DSP in 4″ strips and then cut those down into 3″ pieces. So each piece is 3″x4″ giving you 12 equal sized pieces… YOU WASTE ABSOLUTELY ZERO paper!!! Win/Win

Now from your 8.5″x11″ card stocks you can easily get 6 card mats each. Please note: I took this photo using crushed curry but I actually cut down pumpkin pie paper as seen below.

Easy Peasy…You have card bases made from crushed curry, a basic black border, and a pumpkin pie border. The beauty of this is you have very little wasted paper.

Simply add a cute stamp and a couple of punches and some basic twine and you have a adorable, yet super simple project.

Two Projects using the Toil & Trouble Suite of Products by Stampin’ Up!

Hi Friends,

I hope you have enjoyed my focus for the week. I have really enjoyed prepping all the samples and material for this week. Next week we will continue our Halloween focus using another really fun bundle so make sure to “follow” me or sign up with your email so you get fun notifications when a new post goes live. Now for the FUN samples I have left so show you….. eeeek I am excited!

This sample here is showing off the amazing spider web die. I have cut it 4 times and by gluing them onto the paper it forms a full spider doily of sorts. I just love the Whisper White wed against the designer series paper. The witches hat here was cut out of the designer series paper using the coordinating dies.

Here is another fun project that I created to show off the suite. The background paper is the paper that coordinates with the witch hat die. The witch here is also cut out using the coordinating die. The cauldron is colored as seen in Wednesday’s tutorial. If you missed it I will add it here below just in case 😉

Here is a close up of the Cauldron in the project.

Are you nervous about trying Stampin’ Blends? You don’t have to be…. Stampin’ Up! has made it easy for you. Each color comes in a light and dark so they make blending a breeze. Still have questions? Message me, I will be happy to help.

Tips & Tutorials using Toil & Trouble Suite By Stampin’ Up!

Welcome back Friends,

Now I have to admit to all of you that Halloween is not a holiday I usually make cards for but when I broke into this bundle and began playing and I felt obligated to share this set with you. I wanted to continue making items….it was addictive for sure!  wouldn’t this suite be great for Halloween treats at school for elementary students?

I would like to share a fun tip and a tutorial today with all of you.

First up in the coordination that this bundle has with the Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper. Check this out….

The dies to this bundle coordinate with the papers…. The witch, witches hat (See Monday’s Post), the cauldron, the cat, the frog etc etc. Now how cool is that???

Speaking of Cauldrons… I have a quick coloring tutorial for all of you. I colored this cauldron step by step using Stampin’ Blends. These Alcohol markers are perfect for beginners. They have a light & dark shade for each color so there is no guess work as to which markers to use together.

I hope you have found this post useful. My hope is to inspire you to use your new products confidently. I am always just a message away if you need any crafty guidance. 😉

Melanie’s “Must-Haves” ~ Toil & Trouble Bundle

Hi Friends,

It has been a while since I have been active with my SU! business and for that I do apologize. I am excited to be working with the new SU! Holiday Catalog. So I would like to begin sharing all the projects that I have been working on!

Each Monday I will have a “Focus” product or bundle. I will share samples, tips, tutorials, videos etc. etc. throughout that week. I want you to be able to get the most out of your fun new products.

This Monday’s Must-Have is the Toil & Trouble Suite. The focus of this suite is indeed the Cauldron Bubble Stamp set but that is not all. This set had numerous surprises and I will share those during this week. For now lets just look at the bundle and a couple of samples.

This bundle is a lot of fun to play with. The design of the images allow you to color which adds an extra element to this set. The Toil & Trouble designer paper which also coordinates is also remarkable.

Now to share a couple samples, the first one I created “Just for a little fun”

Little Kitty wanted to wear the witches hat 😉

I also have a second sample made by Karen. She is one of my close friends and is also in my downline. Want to get crafty with me? Simply click “Join Stampin’ Up!” at the top of my blog. I am always wanting to meet and share my love of paper with all of you.

Now isn’t this an amazing project that utilizes this beautiful Suite. See all the products used below. Have an amazing day stampin friends!

I have used the following products

Fun Fold Card ~ Birthday Gift Card Holder

___________________________________________

Welcome back for my third simple fold card this week. This card was saved for last in the series because it is a little bit more detailed than the previous two. I hope I can explain this project and that you will be able to create your own.

This card has two basic folds. The top “yellow” panel folds up and the “bottom” panel folds down. Then when both are opened it reveals a pocked which holds a gift card.

Cutting & Scoring Measurements:

Base Card 8 1/4″ x4 1/4″ ~ Scored at 2 3/4″ ~ Real Red

Inner Solid Card Stock 8 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ ~ Scored at 4 1/4″ ~ Daffodil Delight

Designer Series Paper  5 1/4″ x4″ ~ Red & White Patterned Paper

Designer Series Paper 2 1/2 x 4″ ~ Striped Patterned Paper

Designer Series Paper ~ 3″ x 4″ ~ Blue Polka Dot Paper

This photo above shows the top flapped lifted up (Daffodil Delight). This reveals the pocket for the gift card. It slides in where the top of the blue paper touches the yellow paper. The blue Polka Dot paper is the actual pocket. This was really hard to photograph so if you have questions please let me know
