Garden Wishes ~ Making 3D flowers w/ YouTube Tutorial

Garden Wishes Bundle!

By Stampin’ Up!

Hi Everyone,

I have a fun new project to share with all of you today. I have created an out door scene using the Garden Wishes Stamp & Die Bundle. Remember you do save 10% when both stamp & die (or punch) are purchased as a bundle. The bundle item number for this set is #156220

I love creating scenes but this one was actual inspired by a project in the Embellished box on page 9 of the Sale A Bration catalog. If you are asking yourself “What is Sale a Bration?” It is a 2 month celebration. We have a Sale a Bration catalog with items in it that you can earn for free. You can earn items with $50 (level 1) and/or $100 purchases (level 2). There is also a promotion for both hosting or purchasing $300+ at one time and a awesome deal (6 packs of free paper)  for signing up as a demonstrator (or just a happy shopper who wants the discount all for their purchases) hahaha Have questions? email me at

Now lets look at some close up photos of today’s card. These flowers were so much fun to make. Make sure to watch the video to see how I made these.

The background is actually a piece of designer series paper from the Fine Art Floral. It makes for a perfect sky for my scene don’t you think?

Have a cheerful day! Melanie

Happy New Years & Best Wishes To All!

Today begins a fresh chapter in our lives. A New Year and hopefully one filled with love, creativity, and a great amount of healing for our country. I am also starting a new chapter of my life by offering online classes. My first class will debut NEXT WEEK so make sure to sign up to receiving email updates so you do not miss that big announcement. I am also going to begin each month off with a hostess code. A hostess code allows me to earn a small amount of Stampin’ Rewards. This does not cost you anything so not to worry. It just allows me to earn a little extra to help cover the cost of paper or embellishments. If your order is over $150 please do not use the hostess code as you will qualify yourself for the Stampin’ Rewards.

JAN 2021 Hostess Code IS: UQZ6PQ7M

Now for today’s project. It is a card that just kind of fell together. A happy accident I guess you can say. I am using the BRAND NEW Fine Art Floral Designer series paper. That along with some Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla card stocks and the Stitched so Sweetly Die set (A Must Have). Lets take a look….

The frame was made from an embossed ( Painted Texture 3D embossing folder) piece of Very Vanilla card stock and is elevated using lots of Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a beautiful raised look.

As you can see above, it does not take much else to give this card it’s beauty. I have simply added a sponged foliage leaves from the “A Touch of ink” FREE Sale A Bration item. This double stamp set will be FREE with a $100 during Sale A Bration which begins January 5th So check back then for the kick off of this amazing 2 month Sale!!!!

Last but not least….ohhhh my goodnesssssss are these little Ladybug Trinkets not the most adorable thing ever? QUICK TIP: they hook perfectly to your project with one mini glue dot so make sure to add those to your order if you don’t already have them. These are going to be available in the NEW Spring Mini Catalog which also kicks off January 5th. If you have not received a copy of the two new catalogs please email me at with your name and address. I will send one out to you ASAP!

As always thank you for stopping by. I am so excited about the upcoming two months. I will have two class offerings, numerous YouTube videos, along with at least 2 posts a week here on my blog. So if you are not already registered I would be honored to serve you. Simply pop your email into the sidebar of the website here. Thank you so much for your support and Happy 2021 my friends!!!!!!

Focal Friday ~ Poinsettia Petals Bundle

Welcome back friend,

Today I have an exciting post. I am showcasing a non traditional look at the Poinsettia Petals Bundle from the holiday catalog. There is SO MUCH you can do with this set that I am afraid I do not have enough time before the holidays to even tap into all the ideas running through my mind. My design idea here came from this photo I took a local grocery store where my son works. The beautiful peachy look was hard to recreate but as I played I really fell in love with these dies. Lets take a look at the focal image together…..

Here is my project. I have used the dies from the Poinsettia Petals bundle (#155148) along with the beautiful Plush Poinsettia Specialty Papers (#153486). This set is being carried over into the new 2021/22 Annual catalog so I WILL be using those set in future posts. I want to color the poinsettias with blends, do a sample using the double stamping technique, I would also like to show you how to make 3D flowers with this bundle. Like I said I a not even scratching the surface but I promise to use it again for sure in the future. Even though this bundle is being carried over, it will not be at the 10% bundle saving price so make sure you grab you bundle now to save with that bundle pricing.

This is a MUST MUST MUST have bundle!!!! I promise you!It is so versatile!

I have a little trick for you when you are trying to make these. What I did was use a piece of tape to attach the embossing portion of the die so that it cuts and embosses at the same time. If you’re stamping and cutting the poinsettias you will then take them apart and use just the edge die to cut out the stamps. I hope this explanation makes sense. You could also stamp tone on tone with the stamp set (like maybe Cherry Cobbler ink on Real Red paper) then you could cut it out AND add the embossing in as well. Like I said the possibilities are endless!!!

You can see by these close up photos I have used a dauber and Mango Melody to ink the petals then I added Wink of Stella along with the Gilded Gems (#1152478) to the centers.

For the card base I used Pumpkin Pie Card stock. The sentiment was created using the “Lovely Labels Pick A Punch” and is also stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink. The gold accent foliage was cut with the “Gold Foil Sheets” and lastly I used the Bumblebee Gingham ribbon. With the mixture of the Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, and Bumblebee it really gave it a peachy feel. Focal Friday’s are suppose to challenge us right? That is what I love about Fridays 😉 If you would like to participate with this challenge feel free to join in sharing your own creations in my facebook group “Melanie Smith Stamps”
