Wednesday Sketch ~ Stampin’ Up! ~ Peaceful Nativity

Hello there friends…

I have a challenging Wednesday Sketch to share with you. i created a square card following the layout of the sketch. Anytime you are using a sketch for inspiration remember you can rotate or substitute anything so just let your mind go and create something beautiful!!!

My husband loves nativities as I do so this card he really liked. He has said that he plans on making a card for two sweet friends of ours that have been like mothers to us. I told him I would help if he really wanted to. I will post them if and when it happens. HaHa!

I have colored the nativity scene using my Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. If you enjoy coloring and love the look of nice blends from light to dark then these will be perfect for you. They are great for beginners as well as advanced colors.

I have combined a couple extra die sets along with the Peaceful Nativity stamp set. I added in the Stitched Stars to represent the banner in the sketch. Then I actually stamped the nativity onto a piece of Whisper White card stock die cut from the “Celebration Labels” die set. All items used to create this card are linked below.

Thank you for stopping by today. Please consider subscribing by email along the side board. I am blogging 2 days a week currently so that would mean you would receive a notification email with each post. I appreciate you very much.

Melanie

2020-2021 Annual Catalog, Alcohol Markers, Coloring

Happy Thanksgiving From Melanie Stamps!

Hi Friends,

I decided instead of a Wednesday Sketch post that I would create a group of Thanksgiving cards which I have mailed off to my bible study group of ladies. I hope they receive them and knows how much I am thankful for them. Here are a couple in progress photos I took along the design process.

I completely forgot to take light box photos of these because I was so motivated to create them for my bible study group. I had them filled out, in their sealed envelope, with postage before I realized I did not take individual photos of them. Luckily I did snap a few shots during the creative process. I had colored all of the stamped images using the wonderful Stampin’ Blends markers. If you like the look of Alcohol markers but can’t decide on which color combos to purchase or shy away because the expense I have a solution for you. Grab the Blends Combo sets of alcohol markers that Stampin’ Up! sells. They are already in a combo that will blend well together so no need to worry about which ones work together. If you have questions abut them never hesitate to contact me.

Here is a quick tip that I learned from Patty Bennett. When making multiple cards at once tie all your bows and attach each to a glue dot on the roll. Then when you need a bow it is sitting there ready to go.

Here is the final product. I loved the look of these tiny bows. I think this trim is my favorite this fall. It is so easy to work with.

I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful day. I will be thinking of my mama in heaven as this will be my first Thanksgiving without her. I know she is looking down on me and is close to my heart. To the families who have lost their loved ones this year not just from old age but also from the Covid 19 pandemic… please know you are all in my prayers.

Crafty Love, Melanie

I am also sharing The Quite Curvy variety bundle which includes the Coordinating Holiday Stamp and papers. The full collection set comes with 2 Stamp Sets, 1 die set, plus a full package of papers. With two stamp sets it covers your holiday cards but the second stamp set is for all occasion cards. This full bundle offer will not be available  for long. So I have created two cards with each stamp set to share this with you.

These are two favorite cards from the ones I made. I love the addition of Stitched Stars dies that I already owned. Let look at these two a bit closer…

This holiday card uses two of the papers from this variety bundle. I love mix matching the paper patterns. The sentiment and forest of tress are both in the Curvy Christmas stamp set which is included. I have also added some pretty glistening Snowflake Splendor ribbon which finishes this card perfectly.

This card here is my favorite of the bunch. I love the curved stars stamp but instead of using them horizontally I decided to stamp it on the diagonal and I love how it turned out. I have incorporates the Stitched Star Die Set and the Gold Foil Paper.

This holiday Christmas tree card has the curvy part vertical and used as the right side of this card to add a little interest. The curvy die was also used for the hill that the tree stands on. My focal was created using the Pine Woods Die Set. I also added some white dotty trim and some rhinestones used for the ornaments. The golf star was from the Stitched Stars die set. I will link these items at the bottom of this blog post for easy reference if your wanting to look a little closer at the items.

Here is a close up of the tree. I love how it turned out.

This last card is more of a plain Jane type of card. I wanted to show off the papers which are included in the Curvy Variety Bundle. It gives you lots of option both holiday and everyday cards. Perfect for every season.

2020-2021 Annual Catalog, Friday Focal, Winter

Friday Focal ~ Snowflake Wishes

Hi Friends,
I am extremely in love with this  Friday Focal color scheme for winter this year. The Snowflake Wishes Bundle by Stampin’ ® Up! show off the purples and just sing out loud when put together.
For these cards I have used the Purple Posy and Highland Heather colors along with Balmy Blue along with a tad bit of Night of Navy. I have also used Foil Sheets and gems to add texture to the cards.
Below I have also added the Quite Curvy Bundle to get that beautiful curved design. I love the way this really gave interest to the card.
On both cards I have used the “Feels Like Frost Specialty Paper” It has patterns on one side (above) and white and silver metallic on the other side. It is just beautiful.
Have questions on how I created a card? Never hesitate to contact me at melaniestamps@yahoo.com , I would be happy to assist you.
